I made View B of McCall's 5640 in sleeveless, above the knee, for my aunt as an early Christmas gift, to wear as a lounge dress around the house. She calls it her moo moo. I think it's more stylish than a typical moo moo. She prefers for me to make them because the ones available in the stores are usually made of polyester, which she hates; and they aren't her style. After these pictures were taken, I added a pocket for her cell phone. I did some topstitching and used packaged bias tape for under the arm instead of making my own. Adds a little pop of color. She loves it. I will be making her more when I get a chance.
A Novel Idea
-
This was one of those last minute sewing projects as the Summer weather was
threatening to disappear but I felt the need to make just one more
sundress. ...
As well as not being polyester, I am sure it is a lot better made than what she could buy. I know she will appreciate it for years to come.
