How to Stay Connected with Google Reader Going Away?

Hello, Everyone. It's been so long since I've posted, but I wanted to pop in and just say hello and let you know I'm still thinking about you and popping in on your blogs. Samantha will be two in August. She is doing great, still not crawling; but she can say many words. We are so amazed about that. She is the sweetest little thing and has the funnest and cutest personality. I am a grandmother now to a little boy, 2 and a half months old. He's so very precious. We are enjoying him very much. He is a very easy and happy baby. My husband and I are going by Mimi and Poppy. I just got my computer back after it crashed several months ago; so hopefully I can start posting pictures again.

I've been reading about Google Reader going away. So I'm wondering: Where is everyone going? How do we follow one another? Is it Blog Lovin'? Please share so I can get connected so that when I start to post more regularly again, I'll be ready. I keep getting the urge to sew something. I just need to sit down and do it. So if you still want to follow me and keep up with what's going on in my life or know when I create something, then please put me on your blog roll or list of blogs you are following.

Let me know if I still have any readers?

  1. Hi! Congratulations on the grandbaby. Glad to hear that Samantha is doing well. As what to do about Reader - I did a back up suggested by Goodle, but I have no idea what that will get me. So, I just bookmarked every blog I read. It was kind of slow going, but until I figure out how to use Blog Lovin' this would work.
Also, best of luck with your jewelry business. Hope all are well and happy. HUGS and God Bless!

  2. I've transferred all of my blog subscriptions to Feedly and Bloglovin. I prefer Feedly, but I'm thinking a backup is good, after all Reader is going away. Feedly is easy because it pulls your feed from Reader and is supposed to step it up when Reader goes away this summer so people won't lose it.

  3. Here's your solution, Trudy :-)

They make it very easy! It only takes 2-3 minutes tops! Trust me! I read many comments before just doing it myself and when they said it only takes a couple of minutes, it really does! :-).

Best to do it as soon as possible (as I shared in my post). July 1 is less than 7 weeks away and with it being so close to a major holiday, it will creep up on us! :-).

Trudy, you may want to purchase an external drive or thumb drive. My IT friend who was in the field for over 30 years finally got me to put EVERYTHING there and think of it AS my computer because when it crashes (mine did last year and a couple of years before), it's no fun. He had to get another IT guy that's on the hardware side to replace my hard drive.

I did a post on that in late December (brief). We all put alot of hard work, time, and dedication into our blogs/sites. Who wants it all going down the drain because of hackers?

    You take care..... -JC. :-)

  6. So nice to hear from you again, Trudy. Isn't grandparenting awesome? I'm sure Samantha will love having the little ones around too. How can she be two in a few months????

I have swithced my blogs over to Bloglovin so I am following you that way. It was easy and seems to be the way most are doing it.

  7. I also switched to feedly and it took no time since it automatically connects (until July) with Google Reader and makes the switches for you - no work involved. Try it!!

Congrats on all of your other good news....so nice to hear about health and happiness in your family.
