Same but Different

I make a lot of things that don’t end up on this blog, and sometimes that’s
because they are similar enough to the final pattern to make things
confusing...

My Dialect and Accent Vlog
I was inspired by Carolyn of Handmade by Carolyn. I have decided to join in and do my own dialect and accent vlog that has been going around . I've thoroughly enjoyed viewing other people's vlogs. I think it makes reading each others' blogs even more interesting having their accent and voice in our mind. Mine is a Texan accent from the city; so it's not extremely strong. My relatives who live in the country in East Texas have a definite Texas accent. Keep watching at the end for the bloopers. It will temporarily say "Failed Video"; but keep watching because half a second later it keeps going. Let me know if you make one so I can come and listen to yours.
The list of words is:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theatre, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Spitting Image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pyjamas, Caught, Probably.
And the questions are:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly, carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

I've just enjoyed watching your beautiful face on the screen, and hearing your melodious voice and words.
ReplyDeleteAs for dialects - I must admit, it's all "greek to me", as English is not my native language.
LOL! Loved the bloopers too! Really from an Iowan perspective your accent isn't all that different. Maybe a little...
ReplyDeleteUp here, we call the carbonated thing pop! My Kentucky mother in law lives with us and calls it soda, but the kids always correct her.
Great to hear your sweet voice!!! I would Have thought that texan accent would be stronger. Very pleasant actualy. Thanks.

Half of the questions I wouldnt know the answers too as they are very american especially the first two!
