Lady in Lavender
This is my version of the 1974 Simplicity 6667. I found the pattern in an antique store. I made the dress using a cotton material. I chose View 2 but with the shorter sleeves. The dress is above the waistline, v-shaped neckline, vestee, back zipper and ruffles on the sleeve hem and the neckline. If I make this again, I will make the knee length version in a flowey fabric.

Lovely. I'd like to see a knee-length version with the same type of ruffles on the hem that are on the sleeves.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out gorgeous I love the fabric, light purple looks great on your skin tone.

This color belongs to you! You look like a southern belle. It's a very pretty dress. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great maxi dress Trudy! You look fabulously comfortable!
ReplyDeletethats lovely,i love the length too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence! I just bought this pattern for myself on ebay last week. Your dress turned out gorgeous! Now I am even more excited to sew one up. I was wondering how the ruffles would look (I'm not usually a ruffly-type gal) and I also wondered how the bustline would fit since I'm more than a B cup, but it looks like it worked on both counts for you, so that's encouraging. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo - soo cute! Great dress and the fabric is adorable.
ReplyDeleteHi Trudy. This dress looks nice on you. BTW: did you ever have that Q&A posting (you posted it maybe a 1-2 weeks ago where people can write in questions). I'm going to also send you a private email. Thanks. -JC
ReplyDeleteTrudy, this is wonderful! You'd never guess that it was sewn from a 1974 pattern.
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous on you!
ReplyDeleteHey girl that is so pretty!! Is it comfy in that length? Does it wear ok? What kind of shoes are you going to wear with it?
