We are also mindful and very thankful for the sacrifice that our servicemen and women have made and are making for our country. Thank you also, to all of you military families who are also making a huge sacrifice as well allowing your men and women to serve as you stay behind and support them and hold down the fort. My father served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart. I also have a grandfather who served. God bless you all.
Here are a few pics. of our day. I hope you had a wonderful day as well.
Credit for the photos goes to my husband, Marty Callan. He takes most of the photos for my blog, the good ones anyway.
Matthew anticipating Samantha's arrival.
Below are two photos of my 10 year old daughter Emily of Super Stitches.
Below is my 8 year old son Martin the 5th.
Another photo of my son.
I thought this was so sweet. A young lady in our church playing the ukulele for the children.
Below is Donna Rodgers of Comin' Home. She has posted a letter written to her by her son who is in Afghanistan where he gives an accounrt of what life is like for he and his fellow soldiers. He describes their living conditions, how much food and water they are given, how often they get a bath, sleeping conditions and many other details. It was an eye opener for me. I will be praying more diligently for them after reading this.

Hi Trudy, You all looked like you have fun. How are you feeling? You look great. Soon you will be having your baby and you are still hula hooping, lol. Funny and endearing at the same time. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOne of the cutest mommies I have seen! I have prayed for Samantha's safe arrival. You will be welcoming a daughter soon, as I hand my daughter off to her new husband (18 days till wedding)...it goes so fast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day.

ReplyDeleteYour Memorial Day looks and sound wonderful and your pictures are fabulous.
Lovely way of celebrating Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteYou look terrific and so do your kids. Soon Samantha will be joining the family, and you'll post some new great photos.
Hi Trudy, Thanks for mentioning my son, Matthew. I have to say his letter really opened my eyes to what our young people do on our behalf. Living in a desert is miserable...even without the constant danger of stepping on a bomb. We have much to be thankful for..and much to pray about.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the link to Matthew's letter from Afghanistan.
Your family looks so sweet..you are amazing..and Marty should be a professional!
